  • Flexible Electronic   ( 2 Articles )

In this category flexible electronics, also known as flex circuits or flex circuit boards, is defined as a technology for assembling electronic circuits by mounting electronic devices on flexible high-performance plastic substrates, such as polyimide.

Additionally, flex circuits can be screen printed silver circuits on polyester. Flexible electronic assemblies may be manufactured using identical components used for rigid printed circuit boards, allowing the board to conform to a desired shape, or to flex during its use.

  • Textile Electronic   ( 3 Articles )
Electronic textiles (e-textiles) are defined in this category as fabrics that have electronics and interconnections woven into them, with physical flexibility and size that cannot be achieved with existing electronic manufacturing techniques.
Components and interconnections are intrinsic to the fabric and thus are less visible and not susceptible to becoming tangled together or snagged by the surroundings. An e-textile can be worn in everyday situations without any compromise on wearability, washability and visual appearance compared with conventional textiles expect differences desired by the design of additional function and form of an e-textile product.
