Brian Lam, editorial Director by Gizmodo, the hottest place for technology loving people, has posted a review of the Audio Stroll Jacket. In a nutshell: quite impressive sound quality and as Brian points out – ‘Battery life is 10 hours, but good news— when your battery pack dies, your iPod or whatever you’ve got plugged into the mini jack, will still be as loud as a set of headphones, without amplification.‘

For the complete review and lot of detail photos of the Audio Jacket’s components click over to Gizmodo.

The good news for everyone wanting to get hands on this Jacket: is is now available for $293.97 via this link. A steep discount compared to the introduction price of $419.5 last November. The Ronin Audio Stroll Down Jacket comes in three color shades: True Black, Bright White and True Red.

Saving some money in times like this is sweet music in our ears.

Kolon Sport is a Korean based company recognized for their high performance, high-tech outerwear which helps explorers to pioneer the untouched corners of nature in style.

By introducing the ‘Smart Series‘ jacket Kolon Sport is challenging the interactive fashion world with a high performance and high-tech fashion product for the coming winter season.

Fusing innovation and music to double the fun in the great outdoors and to help explorers to stay focused, Kolon integrated the iPod controls into the sleeve making the actions of taking out, hitting a button, putting back the iPod into the pocket – obsolete.

Kolon uses e-textile fabric for iPod control allowing a seamless, soft integration into the jacket.

The ‘Smart Series’ jacket is made from Gore-Tex fabric resulting in a light weight, water resistant and breathable jacket.

The use of waterproof zippers give optimum protection to the pockets and for the wearer.

A dedicated iPod pocket has special inner-lining blocking electromagnetic radiation to protect the wearer (for all those concerned about) electronic-smog. I personally question this feature as the ‘radiation’ of an iPod is very, very little compared with cellphones.

No price is set yet but one thing is for sure: the ‘Smart Series’ from Kolon Sport looks cool.

Taking the theme of Nebraska storm-chaser Mike Hollingshead to print one of his dynamic Tornado photos on a dress’ fabric, spice it up with e-textile magic and you get a gorgeous looking, interactive Tornado Dress.

Created by subTela studio, the Tornado Dress’ lining has been embroidered with conductive threads and electronic components including super-bright white LEDs. Three small photocells are stitched to the outside of the dress to detect ambient light.

Depending on the quantity of light that is sensed, different flashing patterns are triggered in the LED display, reminiscent of lightning effects that occur during the buildup of Tornado’s or other severe weather situations.

The Tornado Dress, unfortunately only a concept model, is a beautiful example how traditional textile printing for clothing can become an active style element by adding some technology compared to the static appearance of traditional textile printing without e-textile technology.

Follow this link to watch a video clip with the Tornado (Dress) in action.
