SmartSwim Solar Charger Beach Tote
Solestrom, a Swimwear brand using cutting edge technology for swim wear fashion, joined the Solar Bag trend 2008 by offering for the coming swim and summer season their version of a solar bag: the SmartSwim™ Solar Charger Beach Tote.
The solar charging part is fairly simple, using a water resistant solar panel with 1.5 Watt. It’s not the flexible type of solar panel but judging from the product photo, the design of the tote and the small size of the panel might actually work, meaning the stiff solar panel will not be too obtrusive – sorry, but I do not like large stiff plates one my bags.
What you get with the SmartSwim™ Solar Beach Tote is a rechargeable 3.6V/1200mAh Ni-MH battery and 6 standard adapters for common cell phones and USB for your iPod or other USB charging gadgets. The bag delivers 5V by 200mAh which will be good enough for most USB charging devices.
But there is one feature that makes the SmartSwim™ Solar Beach Tote interesting and unique: an UV meter panel to allow you to determine the UV intensity, both for yourself, and for your solar charging needs!
A great idea getting toasty but not burned with this UV monitor and locate the brightest point on the beach (or anywhere else) for the best and fastest charge.
