The newly designed BioShirt, for marathon runners but also for the amateur marathoners, will assist in evaluating stats, and preventing overexertion.
Korean scientists have developed “computing ware” with a monitoring system.
The BioShirt is composed of two parts: a specially designed shirt and a monitoring system that weighs about just 20 grams including a battery. The battery life is roughly three and a half hours but it will be prolonged to approximately five hours, the average running time of recreational marathoners.
People wearing the BioShirt will be able to monitor their temperatures, heart rates and speeds while running on a real-time basis using a wristwatch-type miniature computer enabled by Bluetooth
The plan is to introduce the BioShirt in 2007 although no specifics is fixed yet, neither the estimated cost of the BioShirt.
