e-textile DIY: Soft Circuit Merit Badge

soft0circuit-merit-badgeEvil Mad Scientist Lenore over at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories posted a cute little e-textile DIY project called: Soft Circuit Merit Badge.

The step by step instruction show how to work with the e-textile components, no soldering or programming is needed. A complete list of material sources round up this nicely made guide.

The soft circuit Merit Badge shines in it’s simplicity yet showing the creative integration of e-textile elements on a small space/badge.

I like the way how the button cell battery holder is made as well as the on/off switch by using sew-on snaps. Sure, it’s not a new idea but a cute implementation in this project.

Check out the instructions on the Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories site, make your own light animated Merit Badge or take it as inspiration for your next big project idea.
