CONNECTEDwear interactive fashion

CONNECTEDwear_module.jpg Fibretronic introduced last year the CONNECTEDwear system that allows consumer to mix and match their interactive clothing with any and every function needed.

This system together with ‘CONNECTEDwear ready’ clothing makes the reuse of the electronic part of interactive clothing beyond the current fashion season possible as the electronic part usually will last longer and a fashion season.

With the recent introduction of the BTM (Bluetooth module) Fibretronic has now in total 5 different modules ranging from Volume Control at a price point of $11.99, iPod Control for $ 24.99, Wireless iPod Control for $29.99, Bluetooth Music Phone Control for $41.99 and the iPod Control with Bluetooth at $45.00 available directly by Fibretronic or Amazon US.

On the clothing side we have already covered a number of ‘CONNECTEDwear ready’ Jackets like Quiksilver, O’Neill, Tog24, Plutonic, Decatlon – to name a few.

‘CONNECTEDwear ready’ apparel have the e-textile infrastructure and connector integrated regardless if the consumer will use it to connect devices or not although most of the apparel brands add one of the modules at the point of purchase to give the immediate full functionality of interactive apparel.

But this might change over time as it is possible to buy a new seasons jacket (for style reason) but still want to use the iPod or BT phone. Just connect the module to the new jacket and you are ready to go into 2009/10 season with your tune control on the sleeve (or other place in future designs).

Check out the full list of module functionality on Fibretronic’s CONNECTEDwear site.
